The Federal Government has declared Monday, May 30 as public holiday to celebrate the 2016 Democracy Day, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.
The Minister of Interior, Lt.-Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau (rtd) yesterday made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government in Abuja.
A statement by the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Bassey Akpanyung, quoted the minister as wishing Nigerians a happy Democracy Day celebration.
He assured the citizenry that with the signing into law of the 2016 Appropriation Act, the country would witness a “New Deal” with its full implementation.
